When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday following on Monday, November 30. In practice the deals start much earlier — many retailers run “early Black Friday” sales through early and mid-November — so the smart move is to start watching now rather than waiting for the day itself.
How to actually save on Black Friday
The discounts are real, but so are the traps. A few habits make the difference:
- Make your list now. Decide what you actually want before the sales hit, so you’re buying deals — not being sold on them.
- Note the current price. A “50% off” banner only means something if you know what the item normally costs. Jot down today’s prices on things you’re eyeing.
- Stack a coupon code on top. Plenty of stores still accept promo codes during sales — an extra discount on top of the sale price. (That’s what we’re here for.)
- Sign up for store newsletters. A lot of the best codes and early access go to email subscribers first.
- Consider gift cards. Buying discounted gift cards for stores you’ll shop anyway is a quiet way to save on top of everything else.
- Don’t fall for fake urgency. “Only 2 left!” countdowns are often just marketing. If a deal is genuinely good at a price you’d pay, buy it; otherwise, skip it.
